Specifically, people might be compelled to rely on herbs rather than addressing the underlying lifestyle changes or discrepancies that have caused joint pain in the first place. This can be a helpful product, but it's not going to restructure your health foundation. Be aware of that as you use this product or any nutritional supplement.
Holy basil has also been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer tumors in various organs of the body. Holy basil is an herb with a great number of medicinal properties, including antibacterial and antiviral properties. |
So I'm talking about these herbs in a general sense. New Chapter's Zyflamend, however, happens to put them all into one capsule with a specific market positioning. I think that's fantastic. I think they deserve a lot of credit for introducing a product like that.
Another ingredient in this product, as I mentioned, is holy basil. There's 100 mg of this particular extract in every serving of Zyflamend, which is two soft gels. The holy basil is a beneficial ingredient as well. Again, these are gifts from nature. |
A lot of herbs, especially those with strong, pungent oils, tend to have these kinds of properties. Oregano certainly falls into that family as well. There are some companies out there making potent oregano extracts which can be used to enhance your overall health, including enhancement of immune system function.
What about the claims regarding blood sugar, cortisol, and insulin metabolism? Simply put, holy basil helps regulate blood sugar in a way similar to cinnamon. |
This shouldn't be an excuse to start consuming high glycemic index foods, thinking, "I've got these herbs. I'll just take some cinnamon and some basil, and I'll get this blood sugar under control." That's not the right way to approach nutritional supplements. Rather, think of holy basil as an adjunct therapy, as something to support your healthy lifestyle and food choices.
Those were just a couple of different products from New Chapter. It's a company to really watch. I think they're doing some great work, and they're very much in tune with the needs of customers out there. |

With the money saved, they can buy high-density superfood supplements, whole food concentrates, high end herbs and vitamins, or other nutritional supplements. Spending the same money that you're spending today, I can show you how to be a heck of a lot healthier.
Brand-name rip-off foods
The processed foods, the popular brand name foods, are the most expensive of all. These deliver the least nutrition for your dollar. If you buy anything in a pretty box, anything that's been processed, anything that's been advertised on television or something that comes with a coupon, you have been conned. |

It will be a glorious day, indeed, when people can walk this earth with true freedom: freedom to choose the healing method they desire for themselves and their children, freedom to learn about herbs, vitamins or prayer, and freedom to access all the relevant information they need in order to make their own private health decisions.
It is the vision of that day that keeps me writing. |

Bronner: Exactly, and it's almost worse (than) what's happening in the natural channel because at least at Wal-Mart, the consumer doesn't necessarily care whether there are herbs. But at health food stores, consumers are motivated to support organics. They want organics. It's that much worse, then, to see this deceit, deception or fraud going on. A lot of people complain about the Clairol "Organic and Orgasm" ad, and yes, that's not great. |

Mike: I've heard so many good things about Dragon herbs and Ron's work. I keep hearing it from almost everybody I'm talking to. The guy's doing it right.
Wolfe: He's doing it right. It's coming from his heart. He really cares.
Mike: We're going to wrap this up in a couple minutes because I know you have to run out of here, but I'd like your feedback on this comment. I got an email from a doctor who said, "Mike, you're giving people terrible advice. Don't you know that the 1918 bird flu actually killed people who had stronger immune systems? |
Another herb that I want to mention is one of my favorite herbs and just so dear to my heart: Reishi mushroom.
Mike: Oh, yes. Perfect. I love it.
Wolfe: It's such a great herb. One that everybody should know about, and it really comes out of a long tradition, thousands of years in Chinese medicine. It is known to kill SARS. Reishi mushroom is one of the great immune system supporting substances ever. Generally, if you're out in the forest and you find a wild reishi mushroom, you want to do a tea of it. You bring it home and dry it and make a tea out of it, and that's how you do it. |
Again, I want to reiterate that not everyone is turned on to this kind of thing with natural health and what can be done with herbs. You may take it upon yourself to be prepared for your neighbors. They may be coming to you and saying, "Hey, what do you have, what do you think I should do?" And you're prepared, and what a gift, what an amazing thing to be able to give that gift. What about a neighbor's kids? Do you know what I mean? They've got to be prepared and they don't know. I mean, you can prepare for them even if the parents don't know. |
Wolfe: I agree, and what's really wonderful about what's happening with our awareness about food and diet and herbs and natural medicine is that we're deferring to the ancient wisdom, the stuff that's worked for thousands of years, and ultimately, the safest bet. Vaccines have not been around for thousands of years. It's not the safest route just because it doesn't have a history. We want to go back to the things that the great Chinese medical doctors figured out thousands of years ago. |
We eat things, and it's just going in and out, but when you take in these really powerful herbs, it's like a sacrament. We realize how holy these things are, and that they are Mother Nature's gift to us, God's gift to us.
Mike: These ancient healers have so much wisdom, I'm blown away when I go back and study the history of Chinese medicine. They had things figured out 2,000 years ago that we still can't grasp today in the Western world.
Wolfe: I'm right with you on that one, Mike. It's so incredible where these guys were thousands of years ago.
Mike: It's truly amazing. |

Why aren't we educating people about all the antiviral herbs, foods and supplements that are more powerful than a drug, and that can't create a resistant form of the virus? The virus cannot build resistance if you're eating 30 different antiviral foods. Why has the public not been told this information?
Unfortunately, these lessons may come at a very high price, because no one seems to pay attention in the world anymore, unless there's, A: A profit to be made, or B: A lot of people who died. |
You can tell people all day long that the best way to protect themselves is to have knowledge about antiviral herbs, medicinal mushrooms and antiviral foods. You can warn people all day long, but until people die, the government won't change its ways, because it doesn't see any reason to change. There's no public outcry until a bunch of people die.
Unfortunately, we may pay a very high price in human lives before people wake up and see the reality, which is that we could have stopped this bird flu virus in its tracks. |
I have no doubt that somewhere along the line in this whole decision process for the national strategy for pandemic influenza somebody said, "Better not mention herbs; keep people in the dark on that one. We don't want anybody to know about that." Why? "Because it might compete with the sale of drugs, and that might give people too much power to put their health in their own hands and think they don't need us (us being the government or federal health officials). |
Visit an herbalist to combat bird flu
So that's the truth about the bird flu virus and the antiviral herbs that we are still, at this point, not hearing about in the mainstream press. This is the truth that the mainstream press refuses to print, and they say we have a free press in this country. We have a controlled, manipulated, censored press in this country, and that's why you're only being told about two things. |
They're all taking this money, so of course they are not going to talk about beating the bird flu virus with herbs. They don't want to anger their advertisers. They talk about a free press, but give me a break. It's a financially controlled press.
If you want to learn the real information about the bird flu, stay tuned to this channel right here. The answer is obvious: we still live in the Dark Ages of modern medicine, where anything associated with nutrition, herbs or alternative therapies is routinely discredited. You never hear, for example, that the Tamiflu drug is actually manufactured from an ancient Chinese herb (star anise). That fact remains largely hidden from the public. People are just told it's a drug.
Similarly, people aren't informed about the antiviral potential of natural therapies. And this is potentially a fatal mistake that could cost the lives of millions around the world. |

The conclusions have been offered as a way to make scientific reporting more "time efficient," because discrediting herbs one at a time was taking too long.
So in the future, instead of declaring one particular herb to be useless (after ginning up some meta-data study that mysteriously excludes all the legitimate studies showing the herb to be effective), top medical journals, research scientists and even the FDA will just issue the blanket statement, "All nutritional supplements are no good for anything, trust us. |

Even if the H5N1 mutates into something resistant to Tamiflu, it's highly unlikely it will be resistant to these 12 antiviral herbs.
In fact, right now, I could go out into my garden and I pick at least five or six, probably a dozen, different plants with potent, strong antiviral capabilities. I could make them into a tea or put them in some alcohol and make a tincture out of them. It's relatively easy to protect yourself against viruses. |

You can find foods and herbs there that not only treat many chronic diseases, but also prevent them.
I've already mentioned some of these healing foods, like corn silk. Most people buy corn and then throw away the corn silk, thinking, "Oh well, that's not going to be any good. It's just garbage. I'll throw it away." Keep it instead, and boil the corn silk and drink that tea. That's what American Indians did. They knew how to use plants medicinally, whether they were plants from the desert, plains, forest or mountains. |
Grow your own medicine right in your back yard
Now why do I call them pharmaceuticals, when I am obviously talking about foods and herbs? Because this is what the term "pharmaceutical" originally meant -- medicine from plants. The history of medicine on this planet is actually based in botany (the study of plants).
One hundred years ago, any good doctor would have studied botany, and he or she would have understood the medicinal uses of plants. He or she would have been taught how to use plants, not only to treat symptoms of disease, but also to prevent chronic disease. |
Standardizing herbs, foods and vital nutrients is foolish. It is losing out on all of the wisdom of nature. In nature, plants are naturally varied. One orange does not have the same exact vitamin C content as another orange, even if they're from the same tree. Two different berries from the same berry plant have a different chemical makeup. In nature, things are varied, and the way we are supposed to interact with nature is to eat a varied diet.
This is a protection mechanism. |

Mike: So, is there some place our readers can go to find out what herbs you have? Does your website have a list?
Newman: The website (www.Azmira.com) has a list of our products, and they can educate themselves about our products and what our products do. They can call the product support help line. That's 520-886-1727. There, they can get educated about their pet's specific needs. For example, if your dog has allergies, you call and describe the symptoms. We are not going to diagnose. |

I couldn't believe that I was referring different herbs and homeopathic remedies that I knew should be working, and they didn't work. When I dug a little deeper, I found out that pets would have it on a chemical-based, putrefied meat-based diet. So, it didn't matter what the homeopathic remedy or herbal remedies were. They were fighting this putrefied diet.
Mike: Sure, because if you're going to poison your pet with these pet foods...
Newman: That's exactly what we're doing: Poisoning our pets. Ethoxiquin is a common stabilizer in pet food. It is a rubber and lethal herbicide. |

So the raw food movement needs to grow up a little bit, and people need to understand that there's a difference between eating something like a low-glycemic fruit, for example – like cherries, berries and dates – or utilizing herbs like stevia and loti instead of using lots of honey and maple syrup to sweeten things. That's really where I see the main niche of working with Dr. Cousens, the pioneering work that he's doing as a physician, and it is my distinct honor to be his right-hand chef for some time.
Mike: And for how long have you worked as a chef? |

In fact, I think that people who rely on drugs and vaccines are far more likely to become victims than people who learn the healing secrets of natural, antiviral foods and herbs.
It is your responsibility to prepare for the pandemic
The White House is now urging families to prepare for the bird flu. In fact, President Bush's statement says, specifically, "While your government will do much to prepare for a pandemic, individual action and individual responsibility are necessary for the success of any measures. |
In addition to various antiviral products, I also recommend a variety of foods, herbs, supplements and even some RADICAL "last-ditch" antiviral solutions in my book, "How to Beat the Flu" http://www.truthpublishing.com/beattheflu.html
These natural antiviral solutions DO WORK. Their antibacterial and antiviral properties are well established through thousands of published studies in the medical literature. This is what I'm personally stockpiling and what I'm telling my family and friends to buy. |
