This combination of supplements has met remarkable success in the treatment of people who regularly suffer from migraines, and can serve as an effective substitute for conventional treatments. Garlic and Love
Fortunately, I married an Italian man whose love for garlic even exceeds my own! He carefully inserts slivers of garlic into our roasts, and adds crushed garlic to our dogs' food, because we know that garlic repels fleas vampires, too, just in case Count Dracula is still around. |

The leaves have a peculiar, aromatic smell (reminiscent of mint, of lemon and of the back of the woods) and a slightly bitter taste.
They make a pleasant tea and were used to flavor beer in Europe up until the 17th century. They can be added raw to salads or made into aromatic sauces. |

You may want to consider being evaluated by a detoxification clinic.
In 1992 researchers at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in Baltimore isolated sul-foraphane, a compound in broccoli and its kin that turns on detoxifying phase 2 enzymes. They then tested broccoli throughout its life cycle and found that the seeds were high in phase 2 enzyme precursors, as were three-day-old sprouts. Even the sul-foraphane precursor dramatically inhibits chemically induced cancers in rats. |

It would appear that purified rhein in capsule form may be more appropriate. If provided in this form, the required dose may not produce severe purgation. The dose of rhein that causes a purgative action in mice is 98 mg/kg (Oshio and Kawamura, 1985). If we divide this by 2 to account for administration every half-life, the purgative dose becomes 49 mg/kg. The equivalent human dose is 3.8 mg/kg every 5 hours, which is just above the target dose of 3.2 mg/kg.

Indian Ayurvedic system of medicine. For centuries, Co-leus forsholi has been used as a natural remedy for heart disease, psoriasis, and insomnia. Forskolin has been the subject of thousands of studies, primarily conducted in India. Today, Indian physicians use forskolin to treat high blood pressure, angina, and heart failure, when the heart muscle is so weak it cannot pump blood properly.
Studies have shown that forskolin not only can lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure but also can strengthen the action of the heart muscle, thereby improving blood flow throughout the body. |

A tincture of yohimbe bark is often used in the amount of 5-10 drops 3 times per day. There are also standardized yohimbe products available for the treatment of impotence. A typical daily amount of yohimbine is 15-30 mg. It is best to use yohimbine under the supervision of a physician.

We consume members of the red pepper family {Capsicum annuum or C. frute-scens) for their color and flavor, as with paprika, or for color, flavor, and heat (piquancy), as with those used in Tabasco sauce. That heat is caused by a family of constituents called capsaicins. The capsaicin content of mild paprika ranges from 0.0002 to 0.0003 percent, that of jalaperio peppers is typically from 0.02 to 0. |

Large amounts of Salix pollen were found in coprolites excavated from a southwestern archaeological site dated a.d. 200-800, suggesting possible medicinal use (Reinhard, Hamilton, and Helvy 1991). Magnesium May Ease Breathing
Some doctors who treat people with allergies recommend that their patients get the Daily Value of magnesium, which is 400 milligrams. That's because this essential mineral is known to help relieve bronchospasm, or constricted airways in the lungs. Magnesium has been used intravenously to help relieve the symptoms of life-threatening, drug-resistant asthma attacks. "Doctors who recommend it for simple nasal allergies are inferring that it may also help these symptoms," Dr. Podell explains. |

It's funny how, in the early part of this century, echinacea was widely used by Americans. It was in most people's medicine cabinets, and then it fell out of fashion," says Dr. Dentali. "Now, it's back, partly because it's been proven safe and effective in Germany."
Special Effects
Although dozens of studies prove echinacea's effectiveness as an immune stimulator, scientists still aren't certain which active ingredients are responsible. Some evidence, however, points to a group of polysaccharides, a combination of different kinds of sugar molecules. |
